Americans are complaining about the relentless commercialism of Christmas - while looking for a parking space at the mall.

...With Christmas less than two weeks away, signs point to the public getting tired of all the materialism. According to a Gallup poll , 85 percent say Christmas is too commercialized, and people agree that there is too much emphasis on gifts and presents. Forty-two percent told Gallup that they would enjoy Christmas more if there were no presents or gifts while 41 percent said they would enjoy it less.

...Stressed, glum faces at the mall reflect the fact that almost six out of 10 Americans say they do not enjoy Christmas shopping, according to Gallup. Still, the average American will spend $797 on gifts this holiday season, down from $857 last year.
