The Cost of Postal Failure

December 5, 2008

The U.S. Postal Service, despite some complaints, does a marvelous job of transporting the mail, especially this time of year. But sometimes they mess up, as in the case of my November monthly letter to supporters. All of them were lost in the system and can’t be found.

This means that Values through Media, which underwrites the cost of these commentaries and other things, such as our annual media dinner coming up on February 4, has been deprived of an entire month’s income. As many of you know, I have not tried to build a huge organization that raises and spends lots of money. VTM is deliberately small so it might invest more of our limited funds in ways that will have maximum influence for the kingdom of God.

If you are on my mailing list and didn’t receive a November letter, would you please send a contribution now? And if you are not on the list and enjoy these daily commentaries, would you consider signing up, or at least sending a contribution? We live month-to-month and doing without for one month threatens our existence. No amount is too small. Thanks.
