Even more frightening: our adult Sunday school class right now is using Colson and Warren's "Wide Angle: Framing Your Worldview" materials.

So either we're all headed astray, or Warren's response is atypical, possibly showing inattention here, or merely that he's not an agile ad-libber.

I sincerely hope it's the latter.

How sad that Rick Warren would give Mrs. Clinton a forum and basically an endorsement. This pastor and church has quite a following and are using their influence to lead those who do not use Scripture to base their political beliefs upon astray. Silence can be construed as acceptance and Rick Warren has failed to take advantage of the opportunity to gently and in love challenge Mrs. Clinton on issues that concern so many of us. May we be wise and discerning in the coming months.

John 16:3 and they will do such for they know not the Father nor the Son. If Rick and Hillary knew the Father then they would not do such. They are saying that it is ok to support/vote for sodemy and the murder of children and be a Christian. You cannot. They just said you could.

Shocking. No one in America should be in the dark anymore about HR Clinton's Marxist agenda. Yet I do see a trend among mega-pastors to 'think outside the box' by going beyond the traditional right-wing values and embracing environmentalism, AIDS/poverty, etc. When they forget the social problems that got us into the mess (sexual deviancy, abortion, drugs, breakdown of family) they are in trouble. We are in worse trouble if we forget the Savior and the spiritual health of the nation.
The left has always been willing to use churches to trumpet their own agenda, even using scripture (sometimes correctly) to show concern for the poor and oppressed. However, when they ignore all the rest of Christ's authority, they show themselves as fakes. Pastors like Rick Warren have to be able to see through this.

Well Done! Using Biblical Truth is the only way towards discernemnt. It has been so hard to discern Warren's actions over the years and balance my natural tendancy towards pharisitical views and the risks we are called to take for the Gospel. This last episode was huge. Like when Hybels invited Slick Willy to the Willow Creek pulpit. I trusted Bill's accountability network then and I'll have to trust that Rick has a network and it supported his actions this time. But it breaks my heart to see how many nominal Christians will be ushered into the prince of darkness's camp with the sound bits that this event will produce for Madame Clinton's runup to the throne. I sense it will bring Christ's heart also. Yet God is bigger than all this and I thank the author of this article for the reminder that going back to scripture is the Way of Christ and the only way he wants me to respond. Thank God for His Truth.
