To furnituremaker?

I think the primary difference is about repentance...Jeremiah Wright apparently said this recently, and since Barack Obama's run for presidency is influenced by this man's teachings it weighs very heavily upon the moment. It is a pressing issue.

If our brother sins against us and repents we are to forgive him every time. So if the Senator, or the late Jerry Falwell were repentant for their sins and turned from them we are to forgive and not hold it against them.

I do believe that Christians did speak out against Jerry Falwells comments and certainly against racism of any kind, which is why we must still speak out and separate ourselves form Jeremiah Wright, until such time as he repents and comes back to the fold so to speak. If he harbors racism and flawed doctrine then he should be corrected by scripture... by his Christian peers, etc. If he refuses to repent and teaches false doctrine then the light needs to remain focused for his own sake.

God Bless yo

First I do NOT support Obama but Crosswalk keeps banging away at Wright as a comment about Obama's ability to be president.
Hmmmm...we have one U.S. Senator who was once KKK...Senator Byrd. Very little is said about that! Jerry Falwell made some strong remarks about 9/11 being the judgment of God because of abortion and homosexuality and Crosswalk upon Falwell's death talks of the loss of a great leader of the faith. It seems to me that Christians on the political right will tolerate racism as long as it oppresses all others but whites. When another race rises in political power it is picked apart for any possible racist remark. This from a Church that endorsed slavery at one time, and preached segregation and white supremacy. Racism is wrong period! But to point to the speck in one man's eye when a beam of monstrous size sits in our eyes is such a double standard. There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither bond nor free..you are all one in Christ Jesus. True Freedom in Christ!

What an excellent article! I looked for days after Wright's speech to find the scripture that he was refering to but couldn't find the reference he used. I wasn't sure exactly what he said, but I knew he had to be twisting Jesus' words extremely. I'm not a Bible scholar, but I have always been taught that Jesus is the only way. The article gave me the certianty I needed. Thanks!!
