Scripture is our guide book for life.  For our thoughts, words and actions.  I urge all of us to prayerfully consider our vote.  It may be one of the most important votes you have every made.  Obama stands for issues that are so contrary to Scripture that we as believers have to ask ourselves, how can we vote for him and walk in obedience to God.  I amn not saying that McCain is a godly man, or that he has all the answers but put aside emotion, even politics, for we must consider the cost of our vote.  What would a vote for Obama cost our children and grandchildren.  What long term changes will be made in our country that may never be undone.  Listen to each man's words, judge each man's character and be wise with your vote.  Exercise that right because too many have died for our freedom for us to take a pass on this election.
May God have mercy on us.

"Don't mix politics with Christianity?" Mix Christ with everything! It is amazing; the lines we draw to encase our comfort zones. Jesus was crucified, politically. The apostles, likewise. Paul imprisoned, nations captured or opened to the gospel, all politically. If God is incapable of working in politics, then we shouldn't vote or help inform each other, politically.

It would be unconscionable for me not to warn other Christians of a pending choice of such import (Presidential voting), if I have information of note. If the Chinese had been able to vote, they would have chosen Christ's freedom over communism. Now, they fight everday for prayer meetings one by one. A political change could make an INSTANT difference.

I said mix Christ with everything, but Christ is not part of a mix. He is the author and finisher of all things; in all things, through all things... Christ.

Jay....I am sorry, Rev Wright said much more than that. He spood out hate for many years. "Bad Charactor equals Bad Behavior". Those you associate with are as a window to your heart.

William Ayers is a former terrorist...I would not associate with a terrorist.

Also, my religion....my politics go hand in hand with the country I live in. And I cannot compromise my politics at the cost of my religion.

Obama supports abortion...in its worst form.
HE HAS A MARXIST VIEW OF GOVERMENT. (Not what made America great)

I doubt we have the same definition of a Christian, or what makes us one. I do beleve you are mixing religion with politics, but where we see different, is simply, you are compromiseing your religion for politics.

If you study scripture, its filled with politics, and politicians. (Leaders)

Lie, in proverbs it says that is one of the six no seven things that God hates. If God hates it, it means it is into DAMNATION. I don't think Jeremiah Wright meant that God is send the U.S. to hell, He is saying if The U.S. continues to deal with sin you keep paid the wages of sin, DAMNATION. Yet I say that Barack Obama has nothing to do with Wright or Ayers, just CHANGE. Hey wait a minute, the last time someone stood up for change and the church spoke out about it.................Well let's me go back to this, conservative christian sounds alot like PHARISEE. In conclusion, John means bath room, Barack means Praise God. I used to here a little baptist preacher say the Praises of God goes up blessings come down..........Think about BARACK in the white house................PRAISE GOD in the withe house........................SOUND GREAT TO ME........................P.S. I am not saying Barack is the Messiah, I am saying you praise the messiah and his Daddy, which makes 100% christian

When I read editorals like this, especially from a christian based organization, it makes me scratch my head. What is conservative chrsitian. I know! One who mixes politics with christianity. One who feels that the views of one person should relfect the views of everyone connected to that person. Let's see...........Rev. wright made a comment that every one is in SHOCK and AWE about. Ok. He said GOD D#$MN America. And this is called crosswalk. Well let's see we have a free speech country that doesn't allow you to say Jesus on TV, can't pray in schools and can't display religous themes at work or you could lose you job. The scripture says "Let everything that have breath praise the lord..." ( I got that from here) To a degree Rev. Wright is wrong and RIGHT. He is wrong because the scriptures says, JUDGE NOT, but when we look at how sin sick our precious US is, OIL SCANDALS, a war that we are suppose to fighting about terrorism but OIL keeps coming up, SOUND LIKE A LIE...................

I am quite suprised to see that so many who come to crosswalk are not conservative Christians.....and they take the time to write on this issue.
I recall Jerry Falwell being well hated by many people for his opinions. And his opinions were in line with scripture.

Rev Wright, is a good window into the heart of Obamas Christianity. Rev Wright spewed hate for so many for many years, and Obama sat there week after week. Jesus message is not hate, but love. But, he said, man shall not live by bread alone. But every word that comes from the mouth of God. If you donot believe that the bible means what it says, you may not be a Christian at all in Gods eyes.
I would question a mans Christanity who went to KKK meetings, or Rev Wright meetings.

Should we not vote our religious beliefs? I am against same sex marriage, legal homosexual unions of any kind, abortion, and and gambling.

I will speak my mind on this and will vote according to these beliefs. What does your canadate believe?

I am for articules like this and thank you for them. Everyone does not follow politics and Christians (especially) get very little chance of hearing a believers opinion on these issues.

I, like James Dobson will not vote for a man or woman who is pro choice. This is a very important issue. The bible says God knows us in our mothers womb. John the Baptist was filled with the Holy Ghost in the womb.

So, we know these are people.....in the womb....and we are not to MURDER.

We have imature and baby Christians who need this info, as I did years ago. I use to have no opinion on this issue, untill I was educated on the Bible says...

I doubt you guys objecting to this will vote John McCaine, and thats proably why you are complaining.

But if thats not the issue, do the mature Christian thing....dont click on politics!

Crosswalk, thank you very much for the accurate article about the decision that will be made by us to guide this great country of ours. Too many people want to stick their head in the sand and say "leave politics out of religion" when that is totally impossible. Our spiritual beliefs are what guides us and we should make our political decisions based on our spiritual principles. The people that want to leave politics out of religion are the same people that "don't understand how our country got this far off track". Read the constitution of our country and you will see that the US was BUILT on the foundation of faith principles and not politicians saying "leave religion out of this". Thank you Crosswalk for being responsible enough to shed light onto darkness and being someone who points us in the direction of truth based on the scriptures that we hold so dear. Thank you for not cowering to the many "ostriches" out there!

Faithful supporter,
Guy clinging to his guns and religion!

Dear Crosswalk,

This article is inappropriate for this website. In America there are obviously believers of different political persuasions, and I do not think that we need to read such a divisive article here! This is not the place for it. I personally have a problem with Democratic social goals/idea's AND a problem with Republican financial attitudes/ideas BUT I did not come to Crosswalk to read about any of them! Please keep this site politics free, but you owe it to yourselves to have someone of a differing view write a rebuttal to Hugh Hewitt's article.
I hope this is not the start of political article's here on Crosswalk. If I log on again and see a Mr. Hewitt or a Michael Medveh, Sean Hannity, etc article again, I don't know if I'll be back. By the same token, I don't want a flood of left-wing article's here either!
PLEASE, give to Cesar what is Cesar's, let politic's dominate the rest of the internet but keep Crosswalk free from it!
(You are forgiven though :) )

I do not want to log into Crosswalk and see political ads. I took a brake from CNN, MSNBC, and Fox to read something spiritual. Please let us all pray. Believers know that the "...the heart of the King is in the hands of the Lord.." Please let us as believers pray that the Lord God who rules the earth will continue to keep his protective hand on America and let us as American not continually stray away from the Christian principles that our country was founded on. Either Mr. McCain or Mr.Obama will have a heavy load when he arrives in Washington. Believers in God (through Jesus) let us pray.... May God bless you all.... This load is too heavy for man... we need divine intervention.

Please!! can you seriously say that the present free market system of tax cuts for the rich is working. Aren't you tired of hearing what Bill Clinton did wrong. Just how is a bailout for the millionaires on Wall street a "free market system'?? More oil, even if it is found, is not the ultimate answer, for the day will come when it is gone. Do you want Nuclear waste? This article is pure unadulterated Republican dribble. I am once more shocked at Crosswalk and it's political agenda. McCain represents more of the last 8 years, and "duh" it is NOT working.
The everyday man on the street knows we are in a MESS. He also knows that a vote for McCain or Obama will most likely make very little difference. The power structure behind the politics stays the same. The Truth is that we will not be saved by a man. The Truth is both sides are wrong. Justice, Mercy, Freedom, do not exist in our political system and will only be achieved when the Lord Jesus Christ returns. Wake up Crosswalk!!!
