Will I agree the UWA will need to tigten their belts. My father has told me stories about unions that will make you shake your head on how any company that is unionized can stay in business. It is also managment fault not just UWA. You say that Americans wanted the big SVU. That is true some did. I know alot of people who buy better gas milage vehicles before the gas went up. Also, if that was the case then the other car markers would not be in the good gas milage business. Some other problems with the big 3. Over the last 6 years I have owned 3 Fords. 2 of them were a piece of junk. The problem parts were exclude by the warranties. Cost me about 8000 to fix them. My wife bought a Kia last time. Been great when a issue has come up no exceptions they fix it. The main problems with the Big 3 are.
1. Labor
2. Quality and responsibility.
3. Management taking the eye off the long range. Short time profit verse keeping the company in business.
