There many places in the bible that says homosexuality is wrong. The bible does condemn homosexuality as an unclean and immoral act.By reading a article published on this site I forgot when and from whom this passage was taken. "the bible is full of allegory and examples of how a marriage, with a feminine and masculine spirit has metaphorical symbolism about each of us and our relationship with God." My question is if being homosexual is a good and right thing then why do some people lie and hide who they really are? I think because it is shameful and that is why the bible says it is immoral like many other sins

One of my sons is left handed. But now, he eats and does a number of things with his right hand. I personally know several people who were former homosexuals but now are either married to a woman, looking for wife or celibate.

Understandably, it is sometimes hard to obey what the Bible teaches for we live in a fallen world. I still struggle with sin and countless times I have to ask forgiveness from God. But to say that certain things must be acceptable because we cannot follow them does not make sense. It is like legalizing a crime because several citizens keep committing it.

God loves gays. The church should do the same. We are all sinners saved by grace. No one can be proud of himself. We all need the Savior for salvation from hell and sinful living. But to say a wrong thing should be right because a number of people cannot do it is not right.

Saying that the Lord said nothing about homosexuality is to miss what is very obvious - "Haven't you read that at the beginning the Creator 'made them male and female. For this reason a man will leave his father and mother and be united to his wife, and the two will become one flesh'? The Lord reiterated the Genesis teaching that God created only two sexes and that marriage is a one man-woman relationship.

A simple reading of Rom. 1: 26-27 - "Even their women exchanged natural relations for unnatural ones. In the same way the men also abandoned natural relations with women and were inflamed with lust for one another. Men committed indecent acts with other men, and received in themselves the due penalty for their perversion" plainly tells that homosexuality is a perversion.

In 1 Cor. 6: 9-10, Paul was not hesitant to align homosexuality with drunkards and idolaters. Thieves have a strong urge to steal. Men want to have many wives. It is a choice to go our way or God's way.

I am dismayed that traditional Christian teachings are being discarded in the name of modern thought. There is a great deal said in scripture about the sin of sexual deviance and about purity. Not just about homosexual immorality, but also about heterosexual immorality.

Clearly, individuals who say that the Written Word is not a valid document say that because they do not wish to come under the teachings. Yet, even Christ said that He had come to fulfill the law. So Christ clearly believed in the Written Word.

If an individual is unable to bring their own bodies under subjection, then how are they able to follow any other teachings? How can they lead anyone to Christ when they cannot be an example OF Christ? We are justified by Christ's sacrifice, however, sanctification takes a lifetime of submission.

Before speaking, individuals who profess to understand the Word of God need to READ the Word of God.

Joe Allen,
You can't separate the Word of God made flesh (John 1) from the word of God written (Heb. 4:12). Jesus said of the word written, "Thy word is truth" (John 17:17). He said, "If you love me, keep my commandments" (John 14:15). He ID'd Himself as the great I Am (John 8:58; Ex. 3:14) who revealed Himself to Moses & the Israelites in the Old Test.
Being born again is not ult. about personal "acceptance" of Christ. It is about God's power (I Cor. 1:18) to transform a sinner into a "new creation" (II Cor. 5:17). Those who are saved are no longer ID'd by and with their sins (homosexuals, drunkards, idolaters, etc.), such that Paul (Jesus' "chosen vessel" to take the Gospel to the Gentiles - Acts 9:15) could say, "such WERE some of you." I Cor. 6:11.
Jesus Christ has the power to free us from the slavery of sin (II Tim. 2:25-26) - He came to save His people from their sin (Matt 1:21). Believing that he leaves His people in their sin is a form of godliness w/out power. (II Tim. 3:5).

I would think that the Word of God is obviously not one of the text books used in these Seminaries. Satan is perverting everything in this world. Even the institutions that are "supposedly" teaching the Word. This doesn't surprise me one bit. I wouldn't stay in one of their dorms for anything in the world. If they want to know about "sex and the church", they should get really saved first, repent, and surrender their lives to the Lord. Then ask the Holy Spirit where sex fits into the church. Or simply read the Scriptures. God makes it very plain as to how we are to behave sexually.
