This is one issue that shouldn't even be a concern within the Church. The Bible is clear in this matter. Even allowing it to come up for a vote shows how much the Church has strayed from the path.

Nothing should surprise those knowledgeable in the Word.

There are those who will call good evil and evil good, but woe unto them. Isaiah 5:20

Even the very elect are deceiving themselves. These people think they will stand in the Throne Room of God and get a pat on the back. Woe unto them....

Let the prideful boast as if they know the Mind of God. They think God didn't actually mean that gays/effeminate would really go to Hell. Surely, that's not what He meant...

All this perversion of the Word is just another sign of the end to come. No one should be shocked. Let's see what happens when the Word comes to pass that Judgement will start in the House of God. Matthew 24:42

I will never understand how any denomination, whether it be Presbyterian, Baptist, Lutheran, etc. can accept gay clergy members. The Bible is extremely clear to me on the subject of homosexuality. While gays should never be cast out from christian love and fellowship; to allow membership as clergy should be against the doctrine of any church denomination. To believe otherwise is to say that we can pick and chose what parts of God's word we will adhere to. This obviously renders the Bible to "just another book" and the word of God as "just his opinion". Does christianity no longer feel the Bible is relevant? I suppose, at some point, we can have a part time pastor that is also an active member of the local Wiccan congregation. Does no one care about the Bible? The topic of allowing gay clergy members in the church is a topic that shouldn't even be considered. Why not allow a clergy member that believe it's okay to have extramarital affairs? It's all just too ridiculous for me..
