Joey Feek's Father Says He Accepted Christ before His Daughter's Death

Country singer Joey Feek died March 4 of cervical cancer, but left a legacy of faith behind. Breaking Christian News reports that before Feek’s death, he father accepted Christ. 

At Feek’s funeral, her father, Jack Martin, said, “I got saved.” Attendees responded with a standing ovation while someone shouted “Amen.” 

Feek, a strong Christian who remained faithful throughout her battle with cervical cancer was proud of her father’s decision. 

Martin continued, “I had no idea that was the most important thing I could’ve done for Joey.” 

"I'm so blessed to be the one she called dad," he said. 

At Feek’s memorial service, her mother also thanked everyone for supporting their family. 

"Whether you knew me personally, or whether you knew Joey, she became part of you, and you became part of her. She loved you because you believed in her, and you never gave up on her," said June Martin said. 

Martin also sang “Just a Closer Walk with Thee.” She explained that she chose the song because everyone needed a closer with with Jesus
