According to the Wall Street Journal, ski resorts are becoming more honest due to technology. A study of 440 resorts discovered that it was common for them to exaggerate their snow reports, driving more traffic to their business.
This practice, however, ended for many ski resorts that have IPhone coverage. A new smartphone app, SkiReport.com, allows skiers to report their firsthand observations. This has driven many ski resorts towards honesty.
Proverbs 26:25-26 teaches, “Though his speech is charming, do not believe him, for seven abominations fill his heart. His malice may be concealed by deception, but his wickedness will be exposed in the assembly.”
Technology has created an assembly of people worldwide who can uncover almost any exaggeration. If your marketing plan is built on deception it’s time to revisit it.
