Sweet Freedom - Week of May 9

Week 17

Busting out with Life!

Do not boast about tomorrow, for you do not know what a day may bring. Proverbs 27:1

Race car great Mario Andretti said, “If everything’s under control, you’re going too slow.” We have two summertime speeds: fast and faster. The Land of the Midnight Sun gives us such short, sweet warmer months that we try to cram it all in before the leaves change and snow flies again. Such rapid change warns us we’d better be full-speed ahead to capture every minute in the great outdoors. Maybe those living in the lower forty-eight find it intriguing, the way we view seasons and respond to the ever-changing natural world. The Bible teaches us that God alone knows what our future holds. Instead of putting off that thing that you’ve wanted to do your whole life, why not put it into action now? Right now is the only time you know you have. The present is a present, so use it. Get up, soak it up, enjoy every minute of it.

Sweet Freedom in Action

Today, go forth. Let’s stop procrastinating and stop taking time for granted. Make today useful for God’s glory and purpose.

offerIn Sweet Freedom, Sarah Palin invites you to draw strength and inspiration from 260 meditations based on guiding Biblical verses. You are not alone in your doubts and anxieties—we all bear the burdens of everyday stresses, and for most of us, our concerns spread beyond our selves to our families, communities, and country. But Palin shows that with abiding faith, and by opening ourselves to the truths that have saved mankind for generations, we can thrive—and experience true freedom.
