2011 Songwriter Search Info

The SINGING NEWS/SOLID GOSPEL Songwriters Search invites non-professional Southern Gospel songwriters* to submit their original songs for professional critique and posting on SingingNews.com. Two Grand Prize Winners and five runners-up will win prizes.  

 

* Non-professional songwriter is defined as never having had an original song on the Singing News Top 80 chart; and who are not currently under an exclusive publishing contract.

There Are (2) Two Grand Prize Winners:

  • A grand prize winner chosen by Ernie Haase and judges will be o!ered a publishing deal with Ernie Haase and Signature Sound Music, and have their song recorded by Ernie Haase & Signature Sound on an upcoming CD.
  • Another grand prize winner chosen by Gordon Mote and judges will be o!ered a publishing deal with RSI music group, and have their song recorded by Gordon Mote on an upcoming CD.
  • The two grand prize winners will be featured in a Singing News magazine story to be released at a to-be-determined 2011 date.

Grand Prize Winners And 5 Runners Up Will Receive:

  • Story, picture and song posted on singingnews.com

  • Mentoring session with participating judges and other top Southern Gospel songwriters.

  • Paid entrance and participation in the National Quartet Convention ("NQC") 2011 Songwriters Showcase

  • Two tickets to one evening of the NQC.

  • One year paid subscription to all Salem Publishing publications, including Singing News magazine, Homecoming magazine and others.

  • Personal introductions to key record labels, publishers and artists during National Quartet Convention week.

Judges for this year's contest include the following(listed in order of their picture): Ernie Haase, Chris Binion, Jim Brady, Twila Labar, Rebecca Peck, and Gordon Mote.

Entries will be accepted through April 30th, 2011. Winners announced June 2nd, 2011.
