Chris Hester - Steps I've Taken

BIO - The calling in Chris Hester's life to share salvation with others began many years ago.  At the age when most children were interested in riding bikes or playing little league baseball, he sang his first solo in church.  This encouragement at the age of five led him down a path that was filled with hours, weeks, and years of singing engagements. These countless hours instilled a rich heritage of the love of southern gospel music while ministering to others.  Chris comments, "I've been blessed with riches beyond measure in the legacy left behind from my dad and grandfather who have been in the ministry for years.  Their spiritual guidance has driven me to where I am today.  I believe there is no greater work than delivering God's message to others."

The beginning of Chris Hester's life seems to parallel that of a child prodigy.  At the age of seven years, his mother entered the living room and discovered him playing the piano and singing.  Although he had never received a formal lesson in piano, Chris had somehow taught himself to play the instrument.  From that moment on, he has been actively involved in the music ministry by traveling and working in the local church through singing, songwriting, producing, and arranging music.

While traveling and singing on the road in the early nineties, Chris met a young lady who shared the same vision.  They wed a year from the day they met and have since then worked together in the local church promoting the good news of Jesus through southern gospel music.  In December of 1995, they welcomed a wonderful addition to their family through the birth of their only child, a son.  Since that time, Chris has spent many years in the real estate and radio industry.  The Hesters live in a small rural town in northeast Oklahoma that is home to Chris Hester Ministries.

In December of 2003, God began opening up doors for Chris to travel and pursue the fulltime calling of music.  At that time, he began work on what is now his new release to gospel music, "It's A Good Life." Chris would like to thank all of those who were instrumental on the new project. Chris states, " Jason Webb and Kevin Ward are some of the greatest assets to the industry! You have added the beginning and finishing touches to the project.  I have to also take time to thank Jeff King "for showing me how to open the door to the studio" and to Joyce Martin, Paul Lancaster, Chip "Ray' Davis, and Kim Bolinger for your awesome vocals.
