Evangelist Bonnke Prays for Nigeria
Evangelist Reinhard Bonnke, currently in Nigeria for a five-day crusade, has been urged to pray for the resolution of the various crises and problems rocking the country, reports Lekan Otufodunrin with Nigeria Online Christian News Service.

Governor of the host state for the crusade, Alhaji Lam Adeshina, who welcomed Bonnke during a courtesy call, said the country was in dire need of prayers. "There are religious disturbances in some parts of the country; poverty is pervasive in the land, and people are not their brothers' keeper." The governor also urged the German evangelist to pray for peace in the world, stating that it is only in a peaceful atmosphere that the word of God could be preached.

Responding, Bonnke, who is the president of Christ For all Nations (CfaN), promised that the crusade, tagged "Great Powerful Crusade: Ibadan 2001" will be the greatest of his campaigns and will be a blessing to Nigeria. He explained that his ministry was to preach the basics of the gospel worldwide.

Bonnke, whose first trip to Nigeria was in 1975, has since organized crusades in various parts of the country that attracted millions of worshippers. After the Ibadan crusade, Bonnke is scheduled to host another round of outreaches in four other capital cities in the western parts of the country.
