Janet Meffered's Bio

Janet Mefferd is the host of the nationally syndicated daily talk program, "The Janet Mefferd Show," on Chicago's Christian Talk AM1160, which takes a Christ-centered look at the news and events of the day, both in the church and in the world. 

Born and raised in Mount Prospect, Janet is a graduate of Prospect High School and Baylor University. She worked as a reporter, editor and religion columnist for the Daily Herald. Previously, she worked as a journalist for the Southtown Economist in Chicago.

A WYLL alumna, Janet has worked in Christian radio for more than 20 years. She won "Best Morning Show" from the Alaska Broadcasters Association for her work at KICY-AM in Nome and also was a broadcaster for KCFA-AM in Anchorage. She worked at WYLL-FM (106.7) in Chicago for several years before moving to Dallas, where she was an editor at The Dallas Morning News and a regular magazine feature writer.

For four years, she was a news anchor and reporter for SRN News, based in Washington, D.C., before hosting "The Janet Mefferd Show" locally in Dallas on KWRD, 100.7 FM. "The Janet Mefferd Show" was syndicated nationally by the Salem Radio Network in 2010.

Janet is married and has four children.
