When Your Resources Are Not Enough - Beloved Women - January 6, 2020
TODAY’S ENCOURAGEMENT: She had tried everything. Now, she had nothing.
Years had passed, every specialist had been consulted, her life savings had dwindled away, yet, she was still unwell.
Have you ever been there? To the end of yourself? Painfully aware that your ability and resources just aren’t enough.
Well, I sure have. Today we’re drawing inspiration from the life of a suffering woman who knew exactly Who to turn to: the all-powerful, ever-compassionate, God-in-the-flesh Jesus Christ.
Humbly, aware of her own frailty, she approached Jesus and touched the hem of His garment (Mark 5:25-34). Perhaps thinking, “I know who You are; You can make me whole. I just need to reach out and touch . . . even your clothing.”
That pure, immaculate faith, unsullied by reliance on anything other than the God-man Himself caught the attention of Jesus. He poured out His power and made her brokenness whole.
Do you sometimes feel like your faith is too small? Take heart!
A mustard seed of faith is enough when it rests on the all-powerful God for whom nothing is impossible (Matthew 17:20).
Let us fix our eyes on Jesus (Hebrews 12:2), not our problems. When we have nothing else but faith, we have enough.
PRAY: Dear Heavenly Father, thank You for the gift of faith. Please help my unbelief. Help me to recognize Your power, Your love, and Your willingness to heal my brokenness. Help me to bring all my problems to You and humbly accept not only the answer You provide but its timing as well. You are a good Father, and I can trust You. In Jesus Christ’s Name, I pray. Amen.
REFLECT: What problems are you struggling with right now that you should hand over to Jesus?
