Desperate for Change – Beloved Women – June 4, 2019
Hannah replied, “I am a woman who is deeply troubled. I have not been drinking wine or beer; I was pouring out my soul to the Lord.” - I Samuel 1:15 NIV
Are you desperate for change in your life? At times, the routine of life can be mundane and I often pray to God for something fresh or new to manifest. Hannah prayed desperately to God for a son. I could imagine that she was weary and was surrounded by reminders of what she didn’t have. She poured out her soul before the Lord with an intensity that didn’t waver. Sound familiar?
As women, we have many seasons where we are desperate for change. Something must give. Pressure has to subside and responsibilities have to lift. When we trust God with the direction for our lives, we don’t have control over how each day will go or the final outcome. However, God knows what we need when we need it. Seek God’s Word and know that God will provide you with what you need. When we become restless for change, seek God for a renewed mind and guidance for direction.
Dear God, thank you for guiding and directing my life in every season. At times when I am restless for change, help me to learn to be content with where you have me. Holy Spirit, guide me and give me the courage to pursue new opportunities that you have for me. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
What is one area in your life that you are desperate for change? Pray to God for wisdom and direction.
