Great Expectations – Beloved Women – May 3, 2019

TODAY’S ENCOURAGEMENT

When my daughter could finally check graduating from college off her list of things to do, she could then move on to the next item on her list: getting a job worthy of her college education. My daughter thought it would take at most a year to land a new position. After a year, reality set in and it took two and a half long years to find a job.

There were ups and downs, false starts, and non-starters during the arduous job search. She not only was searching for a job, but searching for God to deliver on His promises. She searched and knew that God’s plans were better than hers and His ways defy understanding.

God knows the plans He has for us. They may take longer than expected but we can always trust God’s timing and place our hope and expectation in His great purpose for our lives.

PRAY

Dear Lord, when it seems like things aren’t going according to my plans, help me to remember the truth of your word and that I can trust you wholeheartedly. Remove doubt as I cling to you. In Jesus Christ’s Name, I pray, Amen.
