Trusting God with Your Past Mistakes – Beloved Women – September 19, 2023

TODAY’S ENCOURAGEMENT

As my daughter finished her race disappointed because she came in 4th place I asked her three questions. First I asked: “What happened at the beginning of the race?” She explained that she didn’t get a good start and almost fell. “Did you give your best in the race?” I asked second. She admitted that she did not. Finally, I asked, “What could you have done better?” “Try harder be more focused,” she answered. I then told her to reflect on the entire season and look how well she did and not only on the one time that she didn’t meet expectations.

A lot of times when we fail, make a mistake or don’t get life just right we tend to focus on the negative side and forget about all the positive things that we have done or have happened in our lives. It is through mistakes, failures, and mishaps that we are being created into who God has called us to be. Learn, grow, get back up, and try it again. Don’t let the past hinder you but allow it to be the fuel for you to keep going.

PRAY

Dear Heavenly Father, I thank You that despite my shortcomings You still love me and that You will cause all things to work together. I can sometimes be my worst critic so please teach me how to trust You to keep moving forward despite my mistakes. In Jesus Christ Name, I pray. Amen.
