God’s Presence in Our Favorite Things

Today’s Special is: Seeing God’s Love through the Things We Love

Main Ingredient:

Entrée:
When I think of my favorite things the first thing that comes to mind are my horses. There is just something about them that even when I am having a bad day that just lifts my spirits. Just being around them puts a smile on heart that can't be described. I can see the love of God in their eyes when they connect with me and just nuzzle from them melts my heart.
My horses just want to be in my presence. There does not need to be anything else on the agenda to do but just to sit and be still and enjoy being together. I know that’s what God wants from me too. I do not need to ask Him to do anything or help in anyway; just to be still in His presence and enjoy being with Him.
God shows me His love through my horses which are among my favorite things. They put that spark in my heart and I can feel Gods love through them.
My favorite thing may be different from your favorite thing. But I think God gives each one of us something special that sparks a feeling in our hearts. Whether it’s a horse, a dog, a sunset or the waves of the ocean; whatever your something is, you feel your heart smile and know it is a gift from God.
Embrace the love He is showering you with in this special thing. Be still and feel His presence. He is showing you just how much He loves you.
Take Out:
Today take a moment and think about what your favorite thing is. Say a prayer of thanksgiving to God who gave this favorite thing to you. Be still and embrace the moment with God and allow Him to speak through your favorite thing.
Dessert:
Dear Lord, I thank You for loving each one of us enough to give us something that is special to us. Help us to see Your love in our favorite things and help us to share the love You have so graciously given. In Jesus’ Precious and Holy Name, Amen.
