Are you Satisfied?
By Susan Aken
"Satisfy us in the morning with Your unfailing love, that we may sing for joy and be glad all our days." Psalm 90:14
I want more.
Do you ever feel like that? How many are satisfied and would say, “I have enough and I’m content”?
How do we find that place of peace?
Don't we always want more? More food, more free time, new clothes, and another vacation. Marriage if we are single, children if we have none, obedient children if we do, successful children if they’re grown, better health, more energy, bigger income, a more fulfilling job, more knowledge, more stuff, on and on. If I can't find contentment, how can I find joy? There’s always something that’s not what or how I want it to be.
The truth of Psalm 90:14 hits deep in my heart: “Satisfy us.” Is that possible? Can our Father's unfailing love quiet our constant search for more?
We all long to experience gladness all our days. But how?
I find joy in God’s inexhaustible love. When I grasp that Almighty God loves me and that His love can never fail, I’m filled with joy. I can have that exultation everyday when I let that truth sink in each morning. I have His unending love therefore I have everything I need. My Father owns all, knows all, and loves me.
Since His love is absolute and eternal it doesn’t depend on my effort or merit. His love remains constant because of who He is not because of who I am.
Are you dissatisfied? Look to His unfailing love.
