I’m Alive Forever

“For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life.” John 3:16
In a world filled with death and decay, where even our most beautiful treasures fade, I cherish those things that remain.
Old items fascinate me, especially those that have out-lived their owners. I have two pieces of antique furniture in my home. A buffet cabinet and a piano line my walls, passed down from my great, great aunt and both well over a hundred years old. I can’t help but wonder about where the items have been and what they’ve seen. They also remind me of my sweet relative who left them to my family when she passed away.
But this planet wasn’t her final resting place. For Jesus tells us, in likely the most quoted and loved Scripture, that He loved us while we were sinners and died in our place to rise again in glory. If we believe in Jesus and what He did for us, we get to share eternal, never-ending, life with Him in Heaven.
Even antiques have a lifespan. Someday they, and the stories of the people who owned them, will fall away to dust and be forgotten. But whoever knows and loves Jesus, the Son of God, will never perish or be forgotten. For this earthly home is not their final resting place. They will be raised to glory with Jesus in Heaven for all time.
Do you need to accept Jesus as your Savior? Do you believe He was God’s sinless Son who came to earth and died on a cross for your sins? It’s easy to do. Ask Jesus to come into your life. Believe He died and rose again. And receive His forgiveness today. Accept this eternal love from God that doesn’t have a lifespan and be forever changed.
