I’m Clothed in Christ
“For all of you who were baptized into Christ have clothed yourselves with Christ.” Galatians 3:27
I’ve become my mother. I realized this when my son begged me not to go in the carpool line wearing my bathrobe. This comical, embarrassing habit helped me understand a biblical metaphor. Many times, the Bible talks about how we are cloaked in Jesus’ robe of righteousness, or as today’s verse states, we’ve been “clothed with Christ.”
Our Savior provides a covering for our stains from sin, only He didn’t just cover them; He washed us completely clean. And now, we are clothed in Him!
Christ’s perfection wraps around our imperfections. Once this happens, the Father only sees His Son’s perfection. We’re a new person. This grace is even more powerful because it’s a robe we can’t take off. Like a permanent seal, it remains on the Christ-follower for eternity. We are united with Christ forever.
If you have received salvation through Jesus, then you have put to death your old self and have been raised to new life with Him. Take comfort knowing your new clothing will last forever. Christ cleaned up your sin stains and wraps you in His power, grace, and love. Now, that’s a robe your family will be glad to see you wear.
