Should I Leave a Tip?

As followers of Christ we should always lead when it comes to radical generosity - which means no skimping on the “tip”! Did you know that, on average, those who serve us at the restaurant earn $2.00/hour? Tips give the waiter or the waitress the opportunity to earn a living.  So here are some simple rules to follow when it comes to tipping:

1. Plan for it – as you budget your “eating out” allowance, plan on including a tip.

2. Go to restaurants you have discount coupons for – that way you can pay less for the meal and have more left for a generous tip!

3. Determine a percentage. Usually a 15-20% tip at the restaurant is very appropriate. If you go to a hair salon, 15-20% is also appropriate. If you get pizza delivered to your home count on tipping $2.00 - $5.00 depending upon the distance.
