Take Responsibility

Excuses, excuses, excuses. We all have them. If we don’t outright make an excuse for our actions, we often sanitize them, rationalize them or minimize the severity of them. Making excuses for our wrongdoing not only cheats others in our lives, but stops us from taking full responsibility and allowing God to change our heart. Scripture says, “Lying lips are an abomination to the Lord, but those who act faithfully are his delight” (Proverbs 12:22). Stop today and consider where you are likely to minimize your actions. Step up and take full responsibility and determine to own up when you fail others.
