Jealousy

While it is normal to notice what others have and be envious and jealous, we must guard against having these attitudes. Comparisons are silent killers of healthy esteem and self-appraisal. Wanting what others have causes us to lose sight of our many blessings. Consider what the Apostle James had to say on the matter: “For where jealousy and selfish ambition exist, there will be disorder and every vile practice” (James 3:16). These are, of course, very strong words. James warns that jealousy is just the beginning of trouble. How are you doing at being thankful for your life and many blessings?
