Godly Goals Require Faith - Daily Hope with Rick Warren - April 5, 2016

Godly Goals Require Faith
By Rick Warren

“Without faith it is impossible to please God” (Hebrews 11:6a NIV).

Godly goals are set through faith. The Bible says, “Without faith it is impossible to please God” (Hebrews 11:6a NIV). In order to please God, you must set goals that require faith.

What does this mean? It means you must set goals that are bigger than ones you can reach on your own.

For instance, I want you to set a health goal for this year. As I’ve said, if you don’t have a health goal, then your goal is to stay the same or get worse. To move forward and get healthier, you must set a health goal.

Let’s say you need to take off some weight. If you say, “My goal is to lose one pound,” well, you know you can do better than that. Set a goal based on what God tells you to do, and I have no doubt that will be a goal that will require you to remain dependent on Jesus.

You haven’t believed God until you’ve attempted to do something that can’t be done without his power at work in your life.

The Daniel Plan Book

During an afternoon of baptizing over 800 people, Pastor Rick Warren realized it was time for change. He told his congregation he needed to lose weight and asked if anyone wanted to join him. He thought maybe 200 people would sign up, instead he witnessed a movement unfold as 15,000 people lost over 260,000 pounds in the first year. With assistance from medical and fitness experts, Pastor Rick and thousands of people began a journey to transform their lives.

The Daniel Plan is an innovative approach to achieving a healthy lifestyle where people get better together by optimizing their health in the key areas of faith, food, fitness, focus and friends.
