What Do I Need to Know about Raising Adopted and Biological Kids Together?

Our family has three kids that joined our family through adoption and one that joined the typical way. And so we are parenting both biological and children through adoption. In one sense we parent them exactly the same. But in the other sense some of our kids that joined our family through adoption have little bit more specific needs. They brought trauma, trauma was put on them so they bring trauma into our family. And so they get a little bit more intense support in those areas. But I always tell parents this, I always say, "God is not going to call you and your husband towards adoption and forget that you have other kids in your family and go, 'oh wait, we forgot about these other kids!'" I really think that God is calling a family and so it may seem a little bit chaotic and different than your friends who don't have kids that joined their family through adoption but I think we can be really certain that God didn't forget that and that He's going to equip you to handle that.
