Making Your Relationship with God Public – Beloved Women – September 8, 2021
The Bible tells us that after Jesus was baptized, He prayed, the heavens opened and the Holy Spirit came on Him. I love God’s response of being well-pleased with Jesus’ decision to make a public act of faith. I believe that our Father’s response is the same today as we make public professions of our faith through baptism.
Isn’t it so powerful to know that we bring our Father in Heaven great joy when we are baptized. I can remember when my grandmother hugged my sister and I after being baptized and how she welcomed us into the family of Believers. As I reflect on that moment, I wonder how much more was my Heavenly Father well pleased with the decision that we made to go public.
I believe God wants more people to be welcomed into the family of Believers. He desires to be well pleased as churches and people celebrate as one more person takes a step in faith. Click here to learn how to start a relationship with Jesus today.
Father, I thank You for the courage and desire that You give us to take a public step in our faith. I ask that You would use us to walk alongside more people who need to get baptized. Help us to love, have patience and celebrate them during this season. I pray that as they take this step that heaven would open over them and they would feel Your presence. In Jesus Christ’s Name, I pray. Amen.
