New Stockings for My Wife

I heard my wife mention one morning while getting ready for Church. "I sure need some new stockings." She went into the grocery store on the way home that afternoon, and I spied a clothing store next door.
I thought I would surprize her so I went in. "Can I help you," the Clerk asked.
"Yes, I would like to get some stockings for me wife please.""Scheer,? she wanted to know.
I said, "No, she ain't here, she's next door at the grocery store. "
