Long Live the Friends!

May you live to be a hundred,
and may I sing at your wake!
May you be buried in a casket
made from the wood of a 100 year old oak.....
that I shall plant tomorrow.
May you live forever,
and may the last words that you hear be mine!
May the hinges of our friendship
Never become rusty.
What of more value
Then a friend true and loyal?
Be they Spouse, Man, or Beast.
Here's to us!
Who's like us?
Darned few and they're all dead! -
Here's to you, and here's to me,
Friends we'll always be!
And if perchance we don't agree,
The heck with you, and here's to me!
