Poker Time

Showing respect for their fallen comrade, the other five completed their playing time standing up.
Roberts looked around and asked, "Now, who is going to tell the wife?"
They drew straws. Rippington, who was always a loser, picked the short one.
They told him to be discreet, be gentle, and not to make a bad situation worse.
"Gentlemen! Discreet? I'm the most discreet man you will ever meet. Discretion is my middle name, leave it to me."
Rippington walked over to the Smith house and knocked on the door. The wife answered, asking what he wanted.
Rippington said, "Your husband just lost $500 playing cards."
She hollered, "TELL HIM TO DROP DEAD!"
Rippington said, "I'll tell him."
