The Life of the Party

Luke and Jed lived in El Paso, Texas, and saw a bungee-jumping tower at the county fair. This gave them the idea to build a tower of their own and make some money. After it was built, they had great crowds, but nobody was buying tickets.

After several days of this, Jed decided to demonstrate. He climbed the tower, strapped the cords to his ankles, waved to the crowd and leaped. He fell almost to the ground before springing back.

As he bounced closer to the ledge, Luke noticed Jed's clothes were ripped. The second time Jed bounced, Luke saw blood on his temple. After Jed fell toward the ground again and bounced toward the platform, Luke saw cuts and a swollen eye.

Mystified, Luke decided to end the demonstration. He hauled his partner onto the platform. Jed was a mess.

Luke asked, "Jed, what happened?"

Jed groaned, "I don't know, man. But what's a piñata?
