Breathtaking Ice Skating Routine To ‘The Mountain Song’ From Olympic Figure Skater

  • Updated Oct 13, 2023

Anyone who competes in athletics and wants to experience some level of success needs skill, athleticism and a little practice. But becoming one of the best athletes in the world is a whole other level of commitment. It requires an endless drive, persistent dedication and thousands of hours of intense, focused practice. Those athletes invest their blood, sweat and tears in reaching their goals.

Keegan Messing, a two-time Olympic and Canadian national champion figure skater, understands what it means to compete at the highest level of competition. In a clip posted on YouTube, the world-class athlete put his skills, athleticism, strength and hours of practice on full display in a stunning routine.

While skating to “The Mountain Song,” Keegan thrilled and wowed the audience with a series of jumps, twists, turns and spins. He continually sends himself into spin after spin that it’s hard to believe the young man was able to remain standing, let alone continue skating on a frozen, slippery surface.

There was absolutely no way he was not terrifyingly dizzy, but he goes on acting as if he’s not bothered in the slightest.

His many moves and maneuvers on the ice send the audience into sporadic fits of applause throughout his routine. But around the 3:30-minute mark, Keegan takes things up a notch considerably.

He literally jumps head over heels on the ice and lands without missing a beat. The audience erupts, rightfully so, with a thunderous round of applause.

However, while his routine appears to be over after that last jump, as he acknowledges the crowd, waving and gesturing at the spectators, stick around until the end of the clip.

Before leaving the ice and finishing his routine, Keegan attempts and successfully completes yet another flip on the ice.

2 Timothy 2:5 “And if a man takes part in a competition, he does not get the crown if he has not kept the rules.”
