A False Balance

by Berni Dymet

Prov. 11:1 A false balance is an abomination to the LORD but an accurate weight is his delight.

Let me ask you something - have you ever been ripped off by someone?  You've spent the money, purchased the goods, got them home only to discover they didn't work - and when you went back to the market, the guy who sold the thing to you has packed up his stand and gone home.
Swindled.  Ripped off.  We've all been on the receiving end.

But how easy is it for us to put the shoe on the other foot.  Just to tell a few little white lies on the old tax return.  To cheat a bit here, and tell a half truth over there - just so that we can squeeze that bit more out of the transaction for us.

After all - no one will see.  No one will know.

Well - here's a wakeup call - just in case we need one today.  Proverbs chapter 11 verse 1:

A false balance is an abomination to the Lord, but an accurate weight is His delight.

Straight out of God's Word.

See here's the thing.  God sees.  God knows.  God cares.
