Let the Love Flow - Friday, August 14th 2015
"I marvel that you are turning away so soon from Him who called you in the grace of Christ, to a different gospel."
Let's be honest. Sometimes, it can be hard to live in the grace of God. After all, we love the sense of achievement. When we consider that God gives us eternal life by means of grace, it is hard to believe, yet it's the Gospel Truth. Whenever we begin believing that we earned the gift of eternal life, it not only ruins our understanding of salvation, but then we begin holding other people to a works-based, conditional love. Instead of loving people with the grace of God, we love them as long as they adhere to our rules.
There is a better way.
Since God says He loves me and forgives me because I believe and because I asked, I want to then love you and forgive you when the need arises. If I am bitter, hateful, cynical toward God, I will be that way toward others. That's why we need to begin to let the love flow. When we understand the grace of God that comes because of Christ's sacrifice, we will be quick to love and forgive one another. This leads to a life of joy and peace.
Life Lesson: When you have received grace and it is appreciated, it becomes much easier to give grace.
Help me to understand your grace. Open my heart to understanding your sacrifice for me and the fact that I am saved by grace and not by my works. With a clear understanding of your love, help me to love others with great zeal. Use my life to help others see You more clearly. In Jesus' name, Amen.
Living to tell what He died to say,
