Biggest Competitor - Thursday, October 16th 2014
"They desired only that we should remember the poor, the very thing which I also was eager to do."
Money is the biggest competitor with God when it comes to our heart. Finances test us in areas of love, obedience and trust. Do we love money more than God? Are we quick to be disobedient with our finances in order to get things we think we need? Is our pursuit of money a means to bring security because we don't fully trust the Lord? These are valid questions that every believer should consider.
Again, if we are disobedient in the area of tithing, giving and stewardship, it indicates there is a problem with priorities. The good news is that when we correct any issues in this area, it leads to fruitfulness in other areas of life. When we are generous with our giving, we are generous with our love and grace. When we overflow with compassion, we are able to use our resources to engage those in need. When we seek His Kingdom first, we will find great blessings in life.
Life Lesson: Money tests us in many ways, especially in the areas of love, obedience and trust.
Thank You for the blessings You have given me. Help me to be a generous person with all that I have. Today, I give You my time, energy and resources to use for Your Kingdom purposes. In Jesus' name, Amen.
Living to tell what He died to say,
