Patience over Performance
By Rick Boxx

February 11, 2011

My son, Jeremy, competes at Job Olympics. Job Olympics is a statewide competition for high school kids with special needs. They select jobs and compete with their peers for awards based on time and quality of end result.

Often times, the volunteer judges learn as much as the students, especially when it comes to patience. Task oriented and highly skilled people can find it challenging to endure those who may not be able to keep up with their pace.

1 Thessalonians 5:14 teaches, "And we urge you, brothers, warn those who are idle, encourage the timid, help the weak, be patient with everyone."

If you're struggling with someone in your workplace who is trying, but their pace is slow, remember to be patient. After all God endures our slower pace.
