Gratitude at Christmas
Always give thanks to God the Father for everything, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ. Ephesians 5:20
The day after Christmas a San Francisco pastor was looking at the nativity scene on the front lawn of a church when he noticed baby Jesus was missing. Heading outside to investigate, he spotted a little boy pulling a red wagon—with baby Jesus in tow!
The perplexed pastor approached the boy and asked, “Well, where did you get Him, my fine friend?” The boy replied, “I got him from the church.”
“Why did you take him?” inquired the pastor. The boy responded, “Well, about a week before Christmas I prayed to the little Lord Jesus, and I told Him if He would bring me a red wagon for Christmas I’d give Him a ride around the block in it.”
There are two things we can all learn from this little guy:
- Do you adequately express your gratitude to God for His blessings in your life?
- Do you take God with you wherever you go? Not just to church!
“There’s always something to be thankful for. If you can’t pay your bills, you can be thankful you’re not one of your creditors.”
