National Day of Prayer

“If My people who are called by My name will humble themselves, and pray and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin and heal their land.” - >2 Chronicles 7:14

The National Day of Prayer is an annual day of observance held on the first Thursday of May. This day has been designated by the United States Congress. Each year since its establishment, the President has signed a proclamation, encouraging all Americans to pray. During the observance, the Church should pray for President Trump, his administration and the United States Congress. We should openly and unashamedly pray to God for our nation, our troops, police officers and our first responders.

On February 2, 2017 at the National Prayer Breakfast, Donald Trump said: So I want to express clearly today, to the American people, that my administration will do everything in its power to defend and protect religious liberty in our land.  . . . America will flourish, as long as our liberty, and in particular, our religious liberty is allowed to flourish.

. . .that is what our people want; one beautiful nation, under God.

So long as we have God, we are never, ever alone. Whether it's the soldier on the night watch, or the single parent on the night shift, God will always give us solace and strength, and comfort. . . . For us here in Washington, we must never, ever stop asking God for the wisdom to serve the public, according to His will.

Vice President Mike Pence is a Christian who also gave a speech on February 23, 2017 at the Conservative Political Action Conference. He asked the conservative community to give President Donald Trump and his administration their prayers. Seriously, this is what America needs, for our nation and its people to be directed back to God.

It is impossible to rightly govern a nation without God and the Bible.
