Trustworthy and True

Nothing will be impossible with God. (Luke 1:37)

Ever since we decided to put our house on the market, I had spent all my spare time making it look like a family of five didn’t live there. All the personal touches were gone, all the family photos were taken down, all the baby gear was put away. However, I was doubtful that any of this would work toward getting an offer. I had little hope that we would be able to attract a buyer quickly.

My husband had received an appealing job offer from a business in another state, and after much prayer and deliberation, we felt God was opening a door for us and affirming this move. But I wasn’t sure how we would sell our house. I didn’t know how we would manage two payments if it didn’t sell quickly. I loaded the kids in the van and headed to the park so the agent could show the house to our first interested buyer.

While pushing the baby on the swing, my cell phone rang. My jaw dropped when the agent said the client was ready to make an offer on the house and they would draw up the paperwork immediately. Instantly, my heart lifted up a prayer: Lord, You are so trustworthy. I should have known that You would make a way for us—beyond what I could ask for. You are so good to care about the details of my life. Thank You for taking care of us.

When circumstances would have us believe our situation is hopeless, God shows us otherwise. He is in the business of overcoming the impossible. God made a way for salvation by providing His one and only Son. How much more can we trust Him in little things because we know He has taken care of our biggest need—the need for a Savior.
