Me? a Teacher?
Me? A Teacher?

What you have heard from me in the presence of many witnesses, commit to faithful men who will be able to teach others also. (2 Tim. 2:2)
First Caring
The Bible cites many instances in which brothers fought—Cain killed Abel; Jacob usurped Esau’s position; Joseph’s brothers sold him into slavery. Moses interrupted a fight between two of his Israelite kinsmen, saying, “You are brothers. Why are you mistreating each other?” (Acts 7:26).
But fighting between brothers is just one example of our difficulty in doing what God most wants us to do: “love one another” (John 15:17). In Christ you have a whole bunch of brothers, and one of the best ways you can love them is to invest in them. In particular Paul’s challenge to men in 2 Timothy is for us to be proactive in training younger or immature brothers in the faith. He’s calling us to care about our brothers, not fuss with them.
Then Sharing
Joe White is one man who cares. The director of Kanakuk Kamps for youth since 1976, he founded Men at the Cross in 2008, a ministry designed to teach men to disciple other men.
White says that if a man wants to be a discipler of men, he must make five specific responses to the gospel: (1) to radically commit his life to Christ, (2) to learn how to disciple others, (3) to see his wife as his first ministry, (4) to understand he is created in Christ for good works, and (5) to cultivate his relationship with Christ as he disciples others. How well do these responses describe you?
Bottom Line
In your church or other men’s ministries, find a way to begin learning how to disciple younger brothers in Christ.
