Unbreakable Love
Unbreakable Love

I am persuaded that not even death or life, angels or rulers, things present or things to come, hostile powers . . . or any other created thing will have the power to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord! (Rom. 8:38–39)
Stuck Together
To illustrate the unbreakable nature of God’s love, a pastor took two boards—each about a half inch deep, maybe three feet long, and half a foot wide—and said that one board represents us and the other board represents God’s love. He then held the boards far apart and said that when we sin, we feel like God’s love is far from us. Or when life comes crashing down around us due to the sins of others or just living in a fallen world, we feel like God’s love is far from us.
That’s not the case, though. To illustrate this, he glued the boards together with “stronger than wood” wood glue, then screwed them together, then nailed them together, then wrapped duct tape around them. We got the point! Nothing was going to break that bond!
Can You Believe It?
Your feelings will often lie to you. And your perception of reality is often skewed. So if you want to be a stable, joyful, courageous Christian, you need to believe God loves you no matter what based on the clear and reliable promises of His Word. This is the test of faith, and great reward comes with belief.
Bottom Line
The battle to continue to believe in God’s love no matter what is where the rubber really hits the road in the Christian life. Ask God for faith to believe!
