Integrity at Work
Integrity at Work

“The worker is worthy of his wages.” (Luke 10:7)
Finding Work
Looking for work is a challenge at any age—whether you’ve just graduated from school, gotten fired, or resigned a position based on principle. If your plant has shut down or your position phased out, it’s scary to be on the job hunt. A man likes to be “worthy of his wages,” but when he has no income to begin with, or the income disappears unexpectedly, the future can look pretty bleak.
When you’re without a job, it’s a good time to think about the things that go into making a good employee. Actually, when you’ve got steady work, it’s good to think about them too.
Fulfilling Work
What qualities make you valuable in your workplace? The word integrity usually comes up first when we talk about men and work. But what does integrity look like in a man’s behavior?
You’ll see it in a man who gets to work on time, a man who does his job without complaining. You’ll see it in a man who respects others and his boss. You’ll see it in a man who doesn’t cut corners in performing his job, a man who doesn’t take company property for personal use. You’ll see it in a man who is a team player, a man who is satisfied at the end of the day because he’s given his best.
Are you doing your job with integrity? Work can be tough, and doing the right thing isn’t always easy, but it’s always worth it in the long run.
Bottom Line
Take a look at your work ethic, and see how you stack up in the things that add up to integrity.
