Is God a Prude?
Is God a Prude?

God created man in His own image; He created him in the image of God; He created them male and female. (Gen. 1:27)
The Big Surprise
A greeting card had the word sex in big letters on the outside. When opened, it read, “Now that I’ve got your attention, Happy Birthday!” Perhaps nothing grabs our minds, our emotions, and our actions like sex. It causes the blood pressure to rise; it causes us to squirm.
Many people think that when it comes to sex, God is the ultimate killjoy. This may surprise you, but God invented the idea and the act of sex. From the beginning, God created humankind as male and female. What it means to be man, what it means to be woman—emotionally, intellectually, physically—that difference comes from God Himself. Men and women are different by God’s design.
The Startling Truth
If sex is God’s idea, then it must be good and not bad; it’s OK to talk about it, and it’s OK to enjoy it. In fact, we would not be here if it were not for sex. God made us different so that our differences would attract us to each other. Celebrate those differences. Thank God for your wife. Enjoy your love. Remember that sex is a beautiful expression of devotion and affection between husband and wife. God knew what He was doing when He created men and women differently, and He knew what He was doing when He created sex. He’s no prude, and neither should we be. So don’t be ashamed of your sexuality. It’s good.
Bottom Line
Sex is God’s gift to you and your wife.
