When You’re Tempted
When You’re Tempted

Run from sexual immorality! (1 Cor. 6:18)
The Response
Illicit sex is like TNT. Dangerous. Destructive. Deadly. Some people think they can play with it and not get hurt. Some people think they can walk right up to the line and have the willpower not to cross over. Venturing close to sexual temptation is a proverbial no-man’s land. You are playing a personal game of Russian roulette.
When it comes to sexual temptation, the Bible is clear on the appropriate response. “Run from sexual immorality!” Don’t debate it. Don’t resist it. Don’t see how close to the line you can get. Don’t flirt with it. Don’t reason. Don’t rationalize. Run. Run fast. Run hard. Run away from it. Run!
The Boundaries
Therefore, avoid certain films, images, and magazines. Turn off certain television shows and late-night channels. Pass up certain Internet sites. Steer clear of certain people. Let’s face it, some settings are too tempting, some touches too personal, and some liberties are too much for us to handle.
We should know our weaknesses and establish boundaries to keep us from crossing the line. By the way, these boundaries are easier to establish in your stronger moments than in your weaker ones. If you haven’t already done so, why don’t you take a moment and establish those boundaries now? They can be one of your keys to victory.
Bottom Line
