God has done a vast array of amazing things, giving to human minds the capacity to delve into His works. Man is uniquely gifted to dig into the treasure troves that are everywhere. If you love the outdoors, there are a million things you could spend a lifetime exploring—glaciers, volcanoes, oceans, rivers, the cosmos. A human biology course will leave you bowled over by the incredible complexity of your own body. At the cellular level the intricate design of the Creator is visible in the bustling activity that keeps you alive. And the Bible, of course, is a history of God interacting with humanity and performing amazing acts of justice, mercy, redemption, and miracles that simply defy what we know as normal.

Today’s passage is an open invitation to delve into an unfamiliar subject and discover another aspect of the work of God. Divine fingerprints are everywhere, and God beckons us to find Him in all His works. From astronomy to molecular biology, your mind can be stretched and your faith greatly deepened by the overwhelming proofs for the existence of a spectacularly creative and utterly powerful Creator. The cool stuff you learn can also serve as a bridge to share big thoughts about God with friends and seekers. Many have been initially drawn to faith by the evidence that abounds in the universe.
