Good Work
Good Work

I am sure of this, that He who started a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus. (Phil. 1:6)
Complete Confidence
Much in life is uncertain, but some things are for sure. Your salvation is definitely one of those things. Yet countless Christians go through life without complete assurance that they are forgiven, that God accepts them, that the good work He began in them will never end.
We need to know this assurance beyond a doubt because we are weak apart from God’s persevering grace. The road of discipleship can seem long and difficult at times, and if we don’t know that God is absolutely committed to strengthening us and being with us all the way to the end, we’re not going to make it or at least we’re not going to make it with the amount of joy and comfort we could and should have.
Who Is Your God?
Like a lot of spiritual issues, assurance really comes down to what we believe about God. Is He faithful? Is He good? Does He really love us? Can we trust His Word? How we answer those questions in our heart will determine whether we enjoy the freedom and joy He desires for us or whether we go through life doubting, fearful, and striving to somehow do enough to assure ourselves we won’t lose His favor and protection. We will not risk much for God if we aren’t sure whether He’ll come through for us. Assurance is a big deal. Ask God to bolster yours.
Bottom Line
Assurance is a matter of faith. It’s a matter of taking God at His Word and acting as if what He says is true—because it is.
