Sight & Sound’s Popular ‘Noah’ Sailing into Theaters for 30th Anniversary

Sight & Sound will celebrate the 30th anniversary of one of its most popular productions, Noah, by releasing it in theaters for a special one-week engagement, the company has announced. NOAH -- Live! will begin its theatrical run Sept. 18 in partnership with Fathom Entertainment, giving fans who have never seen the epic stage production -- or who have never attended a Sight & Sound show at all -- an opportunity to experience it on the big screen.
Sight & Sound Theatres is a Christian live-entertainment company with locations in Lancaster, Pa., and Branson, Mo., known for its Broadway-style productions that bring Bible stories to life with panoramic stages, towering sets, live animals, special effects, music, and large casts.
NOAH -- Live! was recorded live in Lancaster.
"Thirty years ago, when Noah first premiered on the stage, our ministry was forever changed," said Matt Neff, Sight & Sound's chief executive officer. "This production broke all the rules of traditional theater and helped us discover our calling to bring the Bible to life on stage. We are grateful for the way it continues to inspire audiences today and thrilled to bring NOAH -- Live! to moviegoers across the United States with our friends at Fathom."
Ryan Miller of Sight & Sound said the Noah stage production from the 90s "paved the way" for the other musicals fans enjoy today.
"Thirty years ago, we weren't necessarily known as the Bible story theater," Miller told Crosswalk Headlines. "Noah was a brand new concept where we just did this big, epic Bible story -- and it really caught on."
Miller is the lead producer for the 2025 version of Noah, running this year in Lancaster.
"We have people that came and saw the show as kids, and they're bringing their kids now, which is really, really neat," he said.
The story spotlights Noah's "daily faithfulness of building this ark" -- and God's redemptive power, Miller said.
It will be the sixth collaboration between Sight & Sound and Fathom.
"Our technology has advanced, our storytelling has deepened, and our musicality has evolved," Miller said while comparing this year's production to the one from the 90s. "When we decided to return Noah to the stage, we focused on building upon the show's legacy while making decisions that enhanced the audience's experience and presented the Gospel in a way that is just as applicable to our lives today."
