House of David Season 2 First-Look Photos Unveiled and ‘It Is Epic’

The studio behind the hit streaming series House of David has unveiled the first photos from Season 2, offering a glimpse at the next chapter in the story of the famed biblical king.
Wonder Project on Thursday released eight new photos from Season 2, beginning with an image of David in armor. Other shots feature David with King Saul, David with his future wife Michal, Saul on horseback in battle, the prophet Samuel gazing into the distance, and David standing over the fallen Goliath with sword in hand.
Season 2 will premiere Oct. 5 exclusively on Wonder Project's streaming service on Prime Video.
The studio revealed little of the plot in its social media post, other than this: "A hero's victory becomes a dangerous ascent to power."
House of David creator and co-director Jon Erwin told Crosswalk Headlines that Season 2 will be "bigger" than Season 1.
"It's action-packed. The love triangle, the love story, the relationships are bigger. Season 2 focuses on the friendship between Jonathan and David," Erwin told Crosswalk Headlines. "We start the season right in the aftermath of Season 1, which is the epic battle between Israel and the Philistines. And it is epic."
David defeated Goliath in the final moments of Season 1.
"It really is much more of an action-adventure season as David becomes the warrior he's destined to be. And it's bigger in every way," Erwin said. "… I love Season 2, even more than Season 1. The story just keeps getting bigger and bigger."
Erwin said the story of David was too expansive for a movie and could only be told through a television series.
"It's one of the things I love about television, is the ability to tell a story over multiple seasons," he said. "[It's] a dream come true."
House of David was a hit in its first season and rose to No. 1 on Prime Video.
